ontri.com Newsletter - Volume
9 - July 18, 2006
Welcome to the July 2006 edition of the ontri.com newsletter. We
continue to grow at internet speed and the wealth of information and
heart-warming stories that appear on the message boards every day
are incredible. We're grateful to all of you for
your contributions and as a way of thanking those who go above and
beyond, we're starting a new program, the
ontri.com member of the month. Each month, in collaboration
with previous winners, we will select a member who best exemplifies
the spirit of the ontri community.
Congratulations Jael (ontri.com member of the month)...
There were lots of candidates for our first member of the month
but we decided to give the award to Jael A. of Coconut Creek, FL. Any of you who have been on the public
water cooler recently probably know Jael well. Jael is one of the
most active and most inspiring posters on our
discussion board. She asks great questions, shares every bit of
knowledge that she's learned from her own training and racing and
is always one of the first to congratulate others on their accomplishments or help motivate those who are
going through a tough spell. Earlier this year Jael inspired us with
her story of finishing her first half Ironman just
weeks after a frustrating DNF at St. Anthonys. Her drive to cross
that finish line and her willingness to share the
highs, the lows and all the lessons from her journey are what ontri
is all about. Please join me in congratulating Jael and
thanking her for all her contributions to the ontri.com community.
New ontri uniforms are in!
Many of you suggested
that we create ontri.com uniforms so that members can spot each
other at races and in training and proudly display the ontri colors. After all, we
are a team! I'm excited to announce that our new uniforms are in and they're selling like hotcakes so order yours now
and keep your eyes peeled on the course for our cool new ontri
uniforms. The design was created by a group of high school
students in Boston through a program called Artists For Humanity.
Through this program students work as paid interns
and collaborate directly with local companies to create various
works of art. This is a phenomenal program that teaches
young people important business skills while letting them develop
their creative talents and we couldn't be more pleased
with the results. The stunning design they created are
professionally screened onto top of the line racing apparel from
Desoto Sport. Desoto makes some of the best triathlon specific
apparel on the market, combining performance, comfort and
style at a great price - a perfect match for ontri. Check them out and order yours today at

Improving ontri.com...
We continue to improve the
site each month and as always we welcome any and all input so please
keep it coming. Recent highlights include:
• Friends
With nearly twenty thousand members of ontri from
all over, many of you are making new friends and finding new
training buddies on ontri every day. Now ontri makes it
easier to keep track of these friends. By clicking on a member's
profile and then the "add to friends" link the member will
be added to your friends list which you can view any time by
clicking on the team link and then clicking "view my
friends." If both of you have added each other as friends you will
be able see each other's workout details to help each
other stay on track with extra motivation.
• Private Messages
We recently added a mailbox feature on ontri to
make it easier to send private messages to one another. If an ontri member sends you a message you will get an email
alert and when you log-in to ontri it will show you the number of
new private messages in your inbox. You can get to
your inbox from the home page upon logging in or from the water
cooler tab. Once there, you can read and reply to your
private messages. To send a private message, go to a member's
profile page and click the "send a message" link under
their name.
• Bookmarks
The water cooler discussions are booming with
activity and there are dozens of new topics posted daily. Often
there are discussions that people want to read over and over
again whether it's an inspiring race report from Ironman France or a well thought out discussion of what gear to bring
to race day, you can now bookmark your favorite ontri discussions to make it easier to find and reply to the topics
that most interest you. At the top of any discussion there is a
"bookmark this discussion" link. Simply click that link for
any discussion you wish to mark and it will show up in your
bookmarks page which you can get to from the water cooler
tab.
Welcome coach Lee Zohlman and the Bodyzen staff to
ontri...
We've been searching long and hard for a new coach to join
the ontri family as many of us are ready to take our training to the next level. We are excited to introduce Lee
Zohlman and the Bodyzen coaching staff to ontri. Coach Lee is one of the premiere coaches in the country working with
athletes of all levels. He is one of the few certified USA Triathlon
Elite Level 3 coaches, a certified USA Cycling
Coach, and a certified fitness trainer and has lectured all over the
country on various topics related to endurance
sports. In the next few weeks we'll be integrating the first three
premium training programs to ontri designed by coach Lee
and his staff for beginning and intermediate triathletes who want to
step up their training. The programs will have very
specific details on what to do each day and we will offer the
ability to purchase unlimited coaching support along with
your program so you can post questions for Lee and his staff to help
you along the way. We'll post an update in the next
few weeks as we get these integrated into the system but this is a
great step forward and we are thrilled to have Lee and
the Bodyzen coaches working with ontri.
