Message: Good day,

I am planning on replacing my Ironman Timex HR Monitor with the Polar S625X. Does anyone have this model and if so, how accurate are the shoe pod and the altimeter?

Alexei

Message: Hi, I got an S625X, for christmas from my very loving wife. I think it's great, but I'm not so sure about the altimeter as It seems to be very effected by the cold and changes in temperature. The foot pod I still need to calibrate, when I have done so I will try to remember to let you know. Other wise I'm really happy with it, as it does everything else and more that I haven't discovered yet. Cheers from the UK, David

Message: Sorry I forgot to sat that the pod does work straight out of the box, it's not totally accurate but near enough to count.

Message: The S625X is great but is not too accurate like the Timex GPS .The food pod calibration is very difficult either in automatic or manual mode .This is my experience .

Message: Thanks for the messages and support. I got the S625X last weekend and calibrated it on the treadmill at my gym. After that, I took it for a 2hour bike ride yesterday and was very happy with it. A lot of information to read while the lonely ride was going by!

Message: I got it last summer and love it.Great with the bike. For the run I find it excellent for road running at steady pace but not as much on treadmill or when you change cadence.
I did a 1/2 marathon with it without calibration and was 2 % off which I believe is good enough. Cannot run without it now!

Message: I love mine. I agree with the others that the foot pod has its limitations on the treadmill, but I have found it to be very close on outdoors runs and structured races (mainly 5k or 10k). I use it daily for swimming (HR), biking (HR, Speed, Distance, Altitude, Ascent, Temp, Cadence), and Running (HR, Speed, Distance, Altitude, Ascent, Temp). The only LARGE pitfall with this model is its inability to switch from Running to Cycling speed without having to turn off the monitor (i.e., you'll NOT be able to just hit the lap button while in T2 - you'll have to hit STOP, and switch from BIKE to RUN on the speed sensor if you want to track your measurements during the run phase of any triathlon). Not that huge of a deal (unless you are really trying to win and need that extra 4 seconds it takes to make this adjustment). You then just have to look at your measured results (on the computer) as if you just did a long hard brick workout consisting of a swim and bike, followed be a separate run. Good Luck!!!

Message: I have been useing one for awhile and I love it. Just make sure to read the manual several times. The altitude needs to be calibrated for every ride if you want it to be acurate since weather will affect it. Also, treadmills are not that acurate, go to a track for the footpod calibration. Have fun
