Discussion: First timer race gear

Subject: First timer race gear

Message:
just wanted to see what others recommended to wear for my first tri. So what does anyone reccomend? I am doing a sprint tri in Santa Barbara at the begining of April, so the water is cold for sure, the course isn't to hilly and by that point the temp should be moderate, well nice for someone training in New England. So any tips or suggestions are welcome. Thanks

Message: If the water is going to be cold, you need to consider wearing a wet suit over tri shorts or tri suit. You can always bring sleeves if you think the air temperature is going to be too cool for short or no sleeves. Good luck!

Message: Caryl, do you have a website that is best suited for those of us doing tri's?

Message: Christopher,
to add to what Caryl said, because you are not doing much of a long distance on the bike on a Sprint Tri, you also are safe going with tri shorts that do not have too much padding.
I did my first sprint with Orca tri shorts and that was plenty....
