Message: Has anyone experienced hip pain?Somewhat toward the front while walking, getting in and out of bed and in and out of cars mostly.
I'm wondering if I should see a doctor?
This is my first season doing tri's and I have my 5th this sunday,I'm also wondering if I'm competing too much? How much is too much because I have 3 more after this one.Than a half marathon in October.I love this sport and obviously can't do it enough but I don't want to do any serious damage.
Any advice anyone?????

Message: First ...how old are you? That can make a difference. I am 54 and have always been active. Aerobics etc. I started cycling indoors about 4 yrs ago then took up outdoor cycling 3 yrs ago. I have the same problem but only when I run. The pounding really hurts the hip joints. I have yet to do a tri. But would love to do one next year if I can get through the run part. Not sure this answers your question but just lets you know that there are others of us out here that have the same problem.

Message: My first 5 were sprints. The last 2 where 1/2 mile swims. My next one is an olympic distance w/ my first ocean swim.Yikes!I'm a little scared of sharks.I would travel every weekend to race if my wife didn't lay down the "law"and tell me no more than 2 a month.I figure my first year I want to do as many as I can and learn as much as I can and than next season try a half iron? I've made about every mistake in the book so far so I've learned a ton the hard way. Not to mention your Husband has helped me tremendously!
