Message: Hello,

I recently got relocated to a remote area... I have been training to do a tri, but unfortuanately where the military sent me there are no swimming pools, or bodies of water. I still ride a mountainbike, and a stationary bike (at the gym). I run a lot too. Does anyone have any suggestions on exercises that would help me in my swimming, without getting in the water ofcourse. Thank you very much for your help.

Joel

Message: Joel;
If your worried about losing speed and strength in your swim, you can always make sure to work out the primary muscles used in the swim. Do chest excercises, and core excercises. Whenever possible make sure you are doing dynamic excercises on those groups. It doesnt replace the pool completely but until you find a place to swim I am sure it will help.

Message: buy some of those exercise bands, attach them to the door, lie prone on a weight bench, and do some air swimming!

It will work those muscles you'll need when you jump in the water. Exercise bands are also relatively cheap.
