Message: Ok, here is my problem...im currently training for the rock n roll marathon on june 5th and i was doing really well on my training but 3 weeks ago i broke my collarbone. so i had to take those 3 weeks off (yah it sucked) and now im trying to get back into to training program but im really sucking at it. Im wondering if it is even worth it to focus on the marathon and maybe just forfeit the entry fee and start working on my next event (san jose international tri) on june 26. i dont know what i should do, any feedback is helpful, thanks

Message: Run it... You haven't lost all the good that you've done prior to breaking your collar bone - just a minor setback... Heck, here's some advice that a guy gave me that I email sometimes (he coaches triathletes online), "you've got between 1 and 2 weeks of doing nothing before you have ANY decline in fitness. it doesn't feel quite as good because muscle memory is shorter, like 48 hours give or take. but true fitness lasts a while..." So, even if you have to take the pace down a notch, it's a good test for the tri - and you'll get in good miles... I'd say go for it and kick it's tail!
