Message: Anyone doing the Pittsburgh Olympic Tri on August 6th?
I though about signing up but I am not sure I can train properly in time given it's only 6 weeks away and i just finished my first spint a few days ago.
Anyone have any thoughts on going from a sprint distance to an olympic distance that quickly, is it realistic or a little too ambitious?

Message: Geoff I was actually thinking the same thoughts (ie. signing up for that but need more training time)... what about the Northeast Oly (it's in Northeast MD right on the PA border) on Aug 27. I am doing that one and it looks pretty decent....

Message: Geoff,
I'll be there. Me and a friend of mine from work are doing it. Pittsburgh is my favorite city, so I couldn't pass this one up. Getting there on time is going to be a hectic battle because me and my family will be on vacation in NC the week prior and then leaving for Pittsburgh the day before the race and probably not getting to the Marriot until 8-9PM, so I'll have to do the early bike check-in on Sunday right before the race.

As far as being ready for the race, I think you can. It's 6 weeks away, so you'll have time to orient yourself with the distances. There is already 250 signed up now, so I'll figure there will be over 400 come race time! Should be a blast.

Marty
