Subject: RE: Nutrition By: Stephen McKee Written on: 2005-04-15 07:40:56 Message: The biggest aspect of your diet, no matter if you're trying to lose weight, stay the same, or gain weight is the protien/carb ratio of the foods you eat. There's a lot of people out there that swear carbs are terrible for you.....but carbs covert easily to glucose, the fuel your muscles need to function in top form. The trick is to eat low and medium glycemic carbs instead of high glycemic carbs. In addition to carbs, protiens are the building blocks of new muscles. The body breaks down protiens into amino acids, and reassembles them for building new mucscle tissue. (A protien powder, while not the best tasting stuff in the world, is a good, quick source of quality protien. Choose a whey (animal source) or soy (vegetable source) powder for the best variety of aminos. I use GNC brand whey protien.)

Subject: RE: Nutrition By: William Dessoffy Written on: 2005-04-15 17:17:40 Message: Thanks Scuba for the info. I currently take no suppliments but try to eat naturally. Egg whites, fish and chicken for protein, lots of salads and fresh fruits. For carbs I consume a baked potatoe usually at dinner. I do take multivitamins and glucosamine/chondroitin/msm ( for the joints ).Also I drink as much as 6 20oz bottles of water daily. ~Daddeo~ | |
