Subject: speaking of swimming... By: mischa berg Written on: 2005-04-13 12:48:32 Message: Have any of you done Total Immersion training? What do you think of it? Is there any type of training or specific courses in swimming you would recommend?
Subject: RE: speaking of swimming... By: Jay Allen Written on: 2005-04-14 16:51:54 Message: I bought the TI Free Style Made Easy DVD and the TI Triathalon book and found both to be extremely helpful. The DVD has pretty much the same info as the book and is much easier to learn because of the visuals. I find myself more comfortable and fluid in the water and my HR is around 110 after a mile swim. I try and spend between 10 and 20 minutes before a swim working on the different drills. I would've taken the workshop but they weren't being offered in the Philly area so I took it upon myself to learn. I've been very satisfied with TI and plan on continuing to incorporate their swimming techniques as part of my new swimming stroke.
Subject: RE: speaking of swimming... By: Anne Marie Gaines Written on: 2005-04-25 13:04:42 Message: My favorite topic - TI. I could not swim one length front crawl, I was a breast stroke swimmer. I got a total immersion book at the library and followed the instructions to the tee. I suspended all my bad front crawl swimming efforts. My kids said I looked like I was doing Karate in the pool. The pool attendant at the Y were I practice told me that she has to check that I am OK because I do not make a sound when I swim. It took me three months but at last I am a front crawl swimmer. TI is the best.
