Subject: Anyone keep up with pro cycling?

Message: I am just shocked at all these possible suspects in this doping raid in Spain called "Operación Puerto" and I wonder why the french papers hate Lance, this is way bigger Ullrich might be involved and there might be more proof of Tyler Hamilton's use. This has been going on for a few weeks so who knows who else is in it. and on the flip side sometimes all of this stuff is rumors to sell tabloid papers too

Message: Rob,

My hubby and follow cycling a bit, watch whatever is on tv (oln) and try to follow in the magazines. I really don't understand the attraction of doping and why they risk everything for that little bit of advantage that training harder could produce. I was shocked when Nina Kraft got disqualified for doping in the Hawaii ironman. Why do people bother? Tyler Hamilton could have been great... and I hope it isn't true for Ullrich... I kinda like him and hope he wins the tour this year.

Message: I hope that all the sports clean up the doping.
What honor is there in winning while cheating? They may as well put a motor on their bikes.

Message: It is so hard now a adays to figure out what is right and wrong or if they are guilty or not. The pressure to succeed must be immense. I hope that they are not doing this as it may spill over into the world of Triathlon as well.

It is hard to guess one way or another. I do find it hard to believe from time to time that these professional cyclists can average over 10mph faster than some weekend warrior cyclists on the same TimeTrial course.

Hopefully someone finds the answer out and if the sport needs cleaning up then CLEAN IT UP!!!!!

Teresa, sorry but Uhlrich doesn't stand a chance against Basso. Uhlrich will beat Basso in the TTs but Basso will smoke him in the hills. Basso is following the same strategy as Lance did against Uhlrich. Uhlrich will make up seconds on the TTs but Basso will make up minutes on the mountains.!!!!

Although I'll be rooting for Hincapie, Lephimer, Danielson and all the Americans.

Message: Tim- you just made the tour that much more interesting. I would feel so bad for Ullrich if he didn't win after being the #2 guy for so long. Basso is younger and has more Tours in his legs than Ullrich. I think desperation and knowing this may be his last tour will make Ullrich do it. But like you I will be rooting for stage wins for the Americans. That Hincapie is sooo cute!lol
Spoken like a true cycling fan.

Message: Lance is a class act guy. No doping for him. The dutch just completed an independent investigation into the allegations against Armstrong and found no evidence. The french tabloids won't leave him alone! Never have and never will. Lot of it has to do that they haven't had anyone do anything in "Le Tour" since Bernard Hinault !

Message: Tabloids just want to sell papers, they will say he's a space alien if it will sell papers. They're just not a good source for news unless your one of the "Men In Black". Kinda like faux news.

Message: Can't wait for this year's Tour! Ulrich, Basso, Valverde, Landis... It appears to be wide open. However, I wonder when the doping shoe is going to drop. Are they holding the names until the tour is over or are they going to name names during? Does anyone know what is going to happen with Vinokurov since Liberty Seguros pulled sponsorship? I thought he had a chance. He was a maniac.
I can't wait!!!!!!

Message: I can't wait for the Tour. My supervisor is also an avid fan and one of us usually had OLN up on the computer last time- text paging critcal updates if one or the other was in a meeting. I'll probably be rooting for Ulrich.
