Message: Still insearch for that mysterious nonstop IM finish. Well I did IM CDA and I have to say with all that went wrong this is the toughest and best IM moment for me. The swim went well eventhough many said they got punched around. I took a few karate kicks in the face. even found someones timing chip in the water. I put it in my swim cap and gave it to a volunteer on lap one. I wish I could see the path I swam because I know I was all over. The bike went well on lap one felt great. lap two I could not keep anything down. And the heat started. Oh yeah if you plan to do IM CDA get new tires and forget those light racing slicks. I saw so many flat tires out there. Many times I thought during the second lap to call it quits, I mean I could not get any food or water in and already vomitted what calories I took in. Even finishing the bike I thought about calling it a day. Even walking made my stomach feel sick. But thanks to some great volunteers and many fellow IM walkers I did it. and to my surprise lap two of the run i ran most of it. And was able to eat and drink. By the way I met a man who was doing his first IM and tri (ALL at Once!!) Thats awsome. and one lady held a sign asking all the IM Men if they would marry her one sign say ironmen have nice butts gosh gota love the IM atmosphere. Well my goal for 2006 is two IMs one down one to go. well I gonna take a few weeks off and eat alot of greasy foods. Oh and one more thing I only do the CDA IM every other year and I better see some race reports from you guys next year or when I do it again in 2008. I think you would love this area.

Message: Holy cow, Rob - talk about sticking it out! Were you throwing up on the bike? Oh man. Congratulations on qualifying for the title "tough as nails". Your report really grabs what TRIs are about for so many people, in my opinion. Reading this, somehow it actually made doing an IM sound attractive.

At the very least, it would give me a nice butt.

Awesome job, Rob, way to go!

Message: you know anyone who did that race is "tough as nails", I saw so many people in my condition finish. One man cramped two blocks away from the finish of course he made it in another was throwing up something fierce on mile 24 of the run. I should give every finisher credit due because that was one tough IM I think it was 94 degrees out there. and again the volunteers where great if I was alone out there I would of quit so long ago. But hey they never said Ironman was easy to do if it was everyone would be doing it.

Message: Wow!!!! Rob, awesome effort! You fought through some major problems and finished the race!! I can't even imagine of how you must have felt after the bike event knowing how far you would now have to run. Congratulations on your race!

Message: Guess that's why they call it an IRONMAN. Nice job stickig it out.

While I am years away from an IM, I do have family in the Tri-Cities area just down the road. Might be worth checking out in '08.

Message: While I do agree that we all have great butts and abs and bodies (but enough about myself), I applaud all IM competitors for great drives and a heart of a champion ...win, place or show , just showing up and doing your best is what matters !!! Congrats, get some rest and see you in 2008
