Thanks.

Message: Jon, This really comes down to personal preference. Look pedels have a wide cleat that is good for avoiding hot spots, my first set of pedals were LOOK 5.1. These had an adjusting knob for your float (0-9 degrees). The float is what meaures how much you have to turn your foot to get out.

Never played around with SHimano

Speedplay are my new set of pedals and work great. A bit more on the wallet but also very easy to get into and out of in transitions even though they look like they would be more difficult.

Message: I have always used Look. I got my first set in 1991 and used them up until this year with absolutely no problems (or maintenance!). Easy to click in/out. No hotspots on my size 13 feet. I bought a set of KEO Carbons this year. Extra light, same feel. Lot of pros use them also. Rated one of Bicycling Magazines "best buys" this year...

Message: I love my speed play pedal / shimano TR 02 Carbon fibre shoe combination .
The speed play cleat does require lubricating but they are easy on and off and have a large amount of float.

The Look style pedals are very good also, but tend to sqeek as the cleets wear out.

Nice to have to choose between great products isn't it?

Ron
