Message: Hey Gang,
Hope everyone's day is going great so far. It's pouring the rain here right now and I've got a long bike ride scheduled for tonight. Oh well, at least the temps will be cool.

Just was wondering if anybody here is presently subscribing to any triathlon magazines? If so, what magazine are you reading and do you like it? I would like to subscribe to something that would have good articles on training and also see what products are available.

Thanks,
Marty

Message: Marty,
I am a subscriber to Triathlete's Magazine and I love it!
Their articles are very valuable and informational.
I also enjoy very much reading the articles that Mitch Thrower the editor always writes at the beginning of the magazine.
The also publish training programs that you can follow for various distances. That is how I accomplished my first 1/2 IM.
I like that magazine :almost as much" as ontri.com!

Message: I subscribe to Triathlete Magazine as well. Very well-written and informative, with a layout that is very palatable.

Message: I subscribe to Triathlete and it's a good mag, although I also subscribe to Runner's World and Velonews for more specific information relating to the run and bike. Lately however, I have been thinking of dropping Triathlete (I've been a subscriber for over 10 yrs and there is only so many training plans/shoe reviews/product info they can offer without being repetitive) due to the massive amount of information on the Web.

Message: I'm with Brad. I am a new subscriber to Triathlet Mag, so will stay for a while, but good God, there's so much on the Web, it's almost a wonder that there's even printed material anymore

Message: Triathlete Magazine seems to be the popular choice (mine too). I like to pick up a copy of Inside Triathlon once in a while at the news stands. Good articles from a different perspective. Runners World, Running Times and Bicycling Magazine round out my subscriptions. All but Inside Triathlon and Running Times are put out by Rondel Press so the format is fairly the same.

Note: if you go to ebay and look up magazine subscriptions, you can find Runners World, Running Times and Bicycling magazine for unbelievably low prices. I think I paid around $4 for a year including shipping. Sadly no trialthon magazines yet :-( You can also find training books as well. I found The Complete Book Of Running by Runner's World for $5 new. It normally sells for $25. Haven't found real good prices on videos yet though.

Message: Like John, I pick up Inside Triathlon from the news stand. It's slicker and more glossy than Triathlete but doesn't contain nearly as much info.

I think Triathlete is geared more towards subscription (each issue includes segments of a training plan), while Inside Triathlon has more photos and relies on aesthetics more.

I like the Buyer's Guides Inside Triathlon puts out.

Message: Me too...I changed my subscriptions from "Chicken Wing Weekly" and "Inside Marlboro Man" to Runners World, Triathlete Magazine and Inside Triathlon :-) Love all magazines. As far as printed material vs the web...It is so much easier to get out a magazine than your laptop at airports, waiting rooms, dentist office (root canal this AM), etc.
