| Discussion: How many laps = a mile? | |
Subject: How many laps = a mile? By: Alex H. Written on: 2006-06-21 14:21:38 Message: Hi, I'm a newbie to the triathlon scene. I've completed a couple of marathons and 1/2 marathons in the past and I'm looking forward to my first triathlon. I was wondering how laps in a 25yd pool equal a mile. I've been given a few different answers and I was hoping to find a number that is fairly consistent.
Subject: RE: How many laps = a mile? By: Alexis P. Written on: 2006-06-21 14:23:24 Message: A mile equals 1600 meters. Most pools are 25 meters in length. So, a mile would be 64 lenghts, or 32 laps in a pool.

Subject: RE: How many laps = a mile? By: Jay A. Written on: 2006-06-21 14:54:39 Message: 1 mile = 1760 yards. In a 25 yard pool 70.4 lenghts or 35.2 laps = 1 mile.
