Subject: RE: Looking for Long Island Training Partner By: Elizabeth C. Written on: 2006-06-20 16:36:50 Message: Chuck, I might be doing the same race and live in Setauket. Unfortunately we head up to the Adirondacks for most of the summer, so all my training will be there. My training is all alone, and I agree that it gets very mundane. A partner would probably give some inspiration. I'll stay in touch when we're home from upstate. Good luck.

Subject: RE: Looking for Long Island Training Partner By: FRANK WILLIAM P. Written on: 2006-06-23 12:27:07 Message: I train all over the island but the one's I go to in the area and most frequently are Avalon park and Setauket Woods. They both have some nice inclines and at Setauket I can do some really good brick workouts. Let me know when you will be back in the area and we could do a light trail run or if you have a Mountain bike a brick workout.

Subject: RE: Looking for Long Island Training Partner By: FRANK WILLIAM P. Written on: 2006-06-23 15:29:09 Message: I do not bike at Avalon but I have, I got Strange looks when I did ride through there. The park is actually owned by a foundation that pays tribute to a fallen cyclist. Setauket Woods is a hidden gem and your have probably pasted it serveral times. It is off Belle mead near the medical parks and on either sides of the power lines. There are about 14 miles of trails there. It is mostly used by Mountain bikers but I run there also.
