Check these four things, Salt deprivation, potassium imbalance,local tissue dehydration. Check your seat level on your bike. You should have full extension without plantar flexion (pointing your toes) I have seen it mostly in my practice when a patient immobolizes there calf in a shortened position immediately following chronic exertion. ie riding a bike after running or swimming. Because a cramp is a inoluntary muscular spasm you may have done damage by finishing the race muscle sprain/strain is my best guess. Best to speak with your doctor. Remember, there are reasons professional athletes get massages before and after an event. | |
