Message: I'm looking for some advice or encouragement in finding time to train. I'm a mother of 4 the youngest being less than a year old. I also own a small business ( Medical massage therapy) Does anyone else feel the crunch of busy lifestyle, kids etc.. and how do you find the time to seriously train.

Message: Sonya,

I only have two children but I have two jobs. I do a lot of training after the kids have gone to bed. We set up a weights in our basement and I kept my bike on a trainer all winter. This isn't the best quality but it keeps me from degenerating quite so quickly. I started the outdoor biking season here in Idaho in mid-season form, so it must be working. I hear that consistency is the key.

There is a track next to my kids' school, so I often go early to get them and get a run in.

Enjoy your training!

Message: Time management. We all hear these words daily. Manage your time daily set your priorities. I also own a small business. Most days I set my work time around my training time making the training 1 priority or else it doesn't get done at least as good as it should be. I like to swim in the late mornings so I take an extended lunch on those days. Don't waste time. ~Daddeo~

Message: I have two children. Here's some things that worked for me... Pull the kids in a bike trailer (Burly) while the others are at pre-school. Push the kids in a baby jogger. Push one or 2 while the other rides a bike (training wheels, of course). Ride a stationary bike with one in a Baby Bjorn (front carrier). SWAP TIME WITH NEIGHBORS who will watch your kids. Get a baby sitter one-two times a week for a few hours. Find park district classes at the same time. Put your workouts on the calendar for your spouse to see. These are all things I have had to resort to from time to time. Granted I have 1/2 the number of kids you do... But where there's a will, there's a way. Your kids will thank you for it when they realize what a positive and healthy role model you are for them!!!! Best of luck - don't give up!
