Message: Hey gang. I'm looking for some good advice.
My first tri is a sprint this Saturday and depending on how I feel afterwards will tell me if I'm ready for a marathon in 3 weeks. But, this is my delimma. I've been stretching out my training regiments to distances of mile swims, 8 mile runs, 20 mile bike rides. My wind has been good, but I'm having terrible trouble with crams in my feet and calves, especially coming down the stretch. I know that we all need to hydrate ourselves and I've been eating bananas and taking extra potassium every day. I'm just wondering what is out there available for me to use, whether it be before or during a race, that will help me get rid of those leg cramps. I don't want to have this being a problem during a race.

Thanks for the help. This is an awesome site!!

Message: Marty,
I was having the same problems a few months back and I talked to my doctor and she said to up my intake of magnesium. It will help with the cramps and and restless leg syndrome you might get before going to be. Hope it works as good for you as it did for me.

Joel
