| Discussion: From biking to running - a newbie | |
Subject: From biking to running - a newbie By: mary a. Written on: 2006-06-06 00:04:56 Message: I'm training for my first sprint tri at age 47. I am equally strong (or mediocre!) in swimming, biking and running. But when I've tried to do a Brick, the running after the biking just seems so hard and slow. I was wondering, since it is the last sport, and I have 2 more months to train, if it makes sense to really focus my training on the running, as compared to the other 2 sports. I'm not a fast runner now, but very steady ....about 5mi/hour. Perhaps I should concentrate on increasing my speed and go longer?

But my bet is with two months left to your race you can save more time by "worrying" about picking up your bike pace you need to play with your time a little but if your training times are correct and you can pick up your pace a little on the bike you will save more time than working on shaving time off your run. No expert here just my 2 cents | |
