Subject: Awesome Event! By: Paula O. Written on: 2006-06-05 10:55:45 Message: Arizona's Deuces' Wild Triathlon festival 2006 is now history. This is the third year for this venue, and it gets better and better every year! Beautiful, challenging course, great professional promoter, and a welcoming community. (Of course I'm prejudiced because I live here) I did the olympic road tri, and didn't have the best swim. Excuses: couldn't sight on boueys, water in goggles, etc. Bike course was fun, rolling hills through residential areas, juniper forest and city streets. Good climbs and whizzing downhills; my favorite kind of ride. Run course went around the lake and through the campground where the campers came out and cheered for the athletes. Up through cattle country and back down to the finish where the views of the lake and mountains were inspiring on the last mile of the run. Was a warm day, lots of folks showing salt crusting at the finish, but plenty of opportunity to refuel along the course. Everyone in the southwest needs to put this race on their calendars for next year! Check out the website http://www.trisportsracing.com/html/the_festival.html for all the details...
