Subject: Thank you sunny Florida! By: Chris H. Written on: 2006-05-23 10:23:48 Message: I guess we all got what we asked for when entering a race in southern Florida at the end of May. Sunny, hot, humid...and did I say hot and humid? I had no idea what to expect going into this race because not only was it my first half Ironman, but it was my first triathlon. I can break down each segment with one adjective for each. Swim = Intimidating Bike = Long Run = Torturous I have to thank Disney and Ford for a very well put together race. Everything was professionally done. Thank you to all the wonderful people at the aid stations. Thank you to the guy that gave me a valve cap for my tire when I lost mine in the grass after pumping my tire and was beginning to flip out when I was setting up my transition area. The payoff at the finish line was worth all the money spent and time spent training...and then some. I can't wait to do my next half and tighten up my bike and run times.
